Spirit Jam (1998) edited by Catherine Yronwode and Denis Kitchen

This was originally printed in the The Spirit magazine, and I read it back when I covered that magazine. So I’m not going to re-read it now, but just show a few snaps.

So this is a traditional jam magazine. Each artist gets a page or two, and they were allowed to discuss with the people who had done previous pages (so it’s not a “narrative corpse” kind of situation).

So there is a kind of story going on here. It’s all mostly a long chase scene, though.

It’s pretty good (as these things go). A nice variety of artists involved.

In addition to the original Spirit Jam, they also include the Spirit story from Cerebus Jam, where Will Eisner and Dave Sim team up.
